The original movie car was a Porsche 917. Replica livery based off of Bruno Von Stickle’s Lazer 917 GT coupe from Herbie Goes to Monte Carlo on the 1967 Ferrari 330 P4.

The vinyls on the front of the car should now appear desirably in all game modes. Thus, my goal was to not only make the circle around the numbers look more like an actual circle, but to also make the rendering of the circle and the numbers line up, so they would appear in place with one another, overcoming the rendering issue.Īfter five days of painstakingly attempting to make the circle and numbers near pixel perfect, and lots of trial and error, I can proudly say that I’m quite happy with the result. The vinyls render almost correctly in the My Cars/View Car mode, Photo Mode, etc., while appearing out of place when looking at the car in the actual game world, or in replays. The major difficulty and dissatisfaction is of the rendering of the vinyls on the car in the different modes of the game. Looking at the car in the actual game world saw undesired effects due to the mapping, and the rendering of the car. I was never happy with the original “finished” product.
